preparing your home
for selling checklist
The following is a list of helpful
information and suggestions to ensure selling your home is an enjoyable
and safe experience:
|
Remove
as much clutter as possible and try to have neat
and organized closets and cupboards. |
|
Keep
your home as clean as possible as showings may
occur at the most unexpected times!! |
|
Remove
any and all paper documents, bills, and receipts
from easy to view areas to ensure your privacy. |
|
DO
NOT let any individual into your home unless a
Realtor accompanies him/her and we have notified
you of the showing. |
|
Should
an interested individual knock on your door asking
for information, please tell them to contact myself
at the number listed on the sign. Do not give them
a feature sheet or let them into your home under
any circumstances |
|
Any
and all contractors hired by myself to photograph
your home, take measurements, do home inspections
and so forth will identify themselves with a business
card and you will always be notified of their names
and the date and time they will be at your home. |
|
Please
try to keep your walkways and drive way clear of
snow/ice as much as possible. |
|
Try
to keep you exterior light on during the evening
for maximum visibility. |
|
A
gentle air freshener or potpourri is always a nice
touch. |
|
Keep
blinds and curtains partially open to allow plenty
of light into your home during the day - if appropriate. |
|
Try
to ensure the kitchen is spotless with uncluttered
counters, no dirty dished and a clean stove. |
|
PLEASE
try not to be at home during showings unless absolutely
necessary. |
|
It
is helpful to repair any damage to walls that is
visible or will become visible once you move out. |
|
Removing
soap scum, mildew and stains from toilets, shower
stalls, sinks and counter is always a good idea. |
|
Try
to repair or replace any broken items such as window
screens, attached fixtures, baseboards, screws,
brackets, levers, handles and so forth. |
|
Make
sure your garage is free of clutter and dirt. |
|
Clear
away any pet messes from your lawn and keep the
yard as clean and orderly as possible. |
